Investment without Displacement: Increasing the Supply of Affordable Housing

The housing crisis in the Bay Area has reached epidemic proportions. Skyrocketing housing costs are generating displacement risks that threaten the economic and racial diversity of the region.

Researchers agree that building more housing overall is a key piece of the puzzle to easing prices in the long term. But how can we ensure that new development contributes to increased affordability rather than increased displacement pressures? What tools, policies, and revenue sources can be leveraged to build faster, cheaper, and at levels that are affordable to the region’s lower-income households?

Attend our workshop on January 10th to find out.

Speakers include:

Gloria Bruce, East Bay Housing Organizations
Rick Jacobus, Street Level Advisors
Lewis Knight, Facebook
Kristy Wang, SPUR
Miriam Zuk, Urban Displacement Project
