The Transportation and Land Use Coalition' s 11th Annual Summit
"Healthy Communities, Healthy Planet"
Call for Session Proposals
The Transportation and Land Use Coalition invites proposals for sessions for our 11th Annual Summit, "Healthy Communities, Healthy Planet."
Summit Description:
How we build our communities and travel within them directly affect our health. A safe neighborhood with amenities nearby increases the amount that people will walk to schools, shops, and services. A reduced number of cars on the road means cleaner air for everyone. And good transit service ensures everyone can access their health care providers.
Over the last few years, connections between these fields have been made; too often, however, we still operate in separate worlds.
Join TALC as we explore the connections between land use, transportation, and health. Our 11th Annual Summit will bring together advocates, activists, and practitioners from these fields for a day of speakers and participatory sessions to get us working together on building healthier communities. Our goals are:
- Educate attendees on latest work at the nexus of these fields;
- Build connections that will last beyond the day of the summit itself; and
- Activate participants to build healthier communities.
Feel free to contact Chris Schildt (chris@transcoalition.org) with any questions.
Note that the deadline for submitting session proposals is 5pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2008.
