GCC Grantmaking 2018
In FY18, GCC administered three buckets of invitation-only grantmaking.
1) GCC Spring Grantmaking – The four priority areas for GCC’s spring 2018 grantmaking included: public land for public good, tenant/renter protections, new financing tools for equitable and sustainable communities, and work involving county transportation agencies.
2) GCC SPARCC Grantmaking (For SPARCC page in the future) – GCC’s SPARCC work is a collaborative effort between GCC, the 6 Wins for Social Equity Coalition (6 Wins), and the Bay Area Regional Health Inequities Initiative (BARHII). We call our collective work Bay Area for All, or BA4A. SPARCC grants contribute to our broader collective strategy in the following ways: regional impact, place-based approach, partnerships and leveraging innovation.
3) GCC Climate Equity Grantmaking – Climate change is a priority for GCC in multiple respects. Considerations related to climate change are embedded in the values of the collaborative. Today, with major climate impacts already being felt across the country, and California setting the lead on investments in climate related infrastructure, ensuring that low‐income communities and communities of color are protected by from both harm from investment in infrastructure and are protected from impacts of climate change is critical.
